We are a couple in our late 50's that are looking to relocate because of health issues. We have looked at several different areas but have finally settled on the Hilton head area. We don't think we can afford to live on the island,but is there an area near there that is a safe clean area? We have approximately 250k to spend on a home, preferably a condo, but we were thinking about renting for a year to find an area that we really liked. We would of course like to be as close as we can to a beach, we don't have kids at home so schools aren't an issue. My husband works remotely and I am an artist, so we won't commuting every day. I'd like to live near a community where artists had a group where they could meet and paint together. This maybe too much info, but I thought it Better to give too much than not enough. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Take a look at Sun City Hilton Head (Bluffton) I believe they have homes under $250 and they have some side by side garden units (single story) for less then $250K. I believe the garden units will be resale as they do not build them anymore.
