This seems to happen in SC every so often. We have gators in our neighborhood, including an 11 footer the removed a couple years ago, it was a roamer and would like to walk around in people's back yards, it scared the crud outta me once as it crossed the road right in front of me. Best to give them a good amount of distance.

It happened on Hilton Head Island at Sea Pines Plantation and she lived only one block away from the lagoon.

Sorry I meant attacks. Last one I can remember was in about 2016 when that 90 year old lady was killed at her retirement home. I can remember the man at the naval shore leave station who had his arm taken off by one not too long ago too. I'm certainly no expert on alligator attacks though.

Who ever said this is only the second one in 100 years, and I heard on the national news yesterday only the second time in 42 years, don't know what they are talking about.

Being from Florida, I would say a small yappy dog the thought he was Rambo. When the gator went after the dog the owner stepped in and wound up being the victem. Give gators room. In Florida we used to say the best gator bait was a poodle.

The dog was a border collie.
