Default any info on florence county

Hi, we are thinking of moving to sc. my husband is a teacher, and there is an opening in the Hemingway school. We did not want to live in Hemingway, it looks to rural. We wanted to live close to Hemingway, but near a city. What is florence like, and the towns in that county like? are the schools good? how is the crime? any info you can give me would help. Would Georgetown be a better area?

There's not much in Hemingway. My experiences with Florence weren't much better. Florence is bigger, but lacked many of the features that other similar sized cities in SC offer. (But then it was the mid 80's when I last lived in Florence.)
