Hi. I'm looking to relocate and was thinking S.C. I don't want to be near the coast. Looking for low crime area and reasonable home prices 100,000 150,000 area near city but not in. My spouse and I are in late 50's and enjoy our Harley riding. We are retired so jobs aren't an issue. Just nice weather and hardly any snow if any. Can anyone suggest where we could start looking? Thank you.
Check out the Landrum, Chesnee, Lake Bowen, Gaffney area. Beautiful area yet now too far from major shopping, hospitals etc. Mostly “horse country”-ish but lots of back roads for motorcycle riding. A little snow but it melts pretty fast.
I agree with LybchburgLove. Sounds like anything along the HWY 11 corridor and northward is a good match for you. Don't ignore HWY's 276 101, 290 and 14. You can find opportunities stretching from Fairplay all the way to Cowpens.
LL's response was better than mine.We used to go to a hunting/shooting reserve in the community of Fingerville called Riverbend. Its beautiful rural foothills, close to lake Bowen, I26 and highway 11.You would have a straight shot to Spartanburg, Asheville and even Charleston.I would suspect prices on homes are still reasonable there also.

Husband went to Riverbend recently. Said it was beautiful.
Not in SC, but take a look at Brevard NC.A gorgous small town in a beautiful area.
Agree. Brevard is gorgeous.
