The video I've seen looks like the room was jammed with people far beyond capacity. Fault should be on whoever was in charge of the party for allowing things to get out of hand.

What's likely is it will get blamed on the apartment complex or the engineer/architect that designed the building since they have deeper pockets. I expect lawsuits will follow.

I recall two times while I was at Clemson, a deck collapsed and a bunch of people got hurt when way too many people were on the deck at once.


Drunk, overexcited partiers plus what I suspect were old wooden decks.

A lot of private off-campus student housing developments are very cheaply built.
