Chesterfield Co Hospice does not hire LPN's, I am sad to say. Don't let that stop you. Lancaster Co Hospice hires LPN's, this is the county that borders Chesterfield on the west side. There are alot of Home Care Companies down this way if you wouldn't mind working for a different company. You have Department of Health and Environmental Homecare in Chesterfield, New Generations in Florence 1-866-760-7065 (alot of their clients are in Chesterfield co and surrounding counties), Home Health of Lancaster 1-803-286-1472 and if you want there is the SC Service Info System 1-800-922-1107 (they can give you a list of home care service providers). I did home care for about 5 years. If you feel like venturing out into Dr's offices let me know my mom and step mom both work in a doctors office. One in Cheraw (which is where Chesterfield General Hospital and the nursing homes are located) and one in Pageland. Both of these towns are part of Chesterfield Co. If you are looking for privates school New Convenant in Pageland SC is where my 8 year old brother goes but Cheraw has several private schools as well. I believe Chesterfield co has a low cost of living is because it is small, also it is more of a farming area. Most everyone has there own little garden or alot of people have livestock.

As a nurse that is probably about the only job you can get around here in Chesterfield Co. - we live in Cheraw and unlike what you are looking for... we are looking to go some place much bigger... moved here from NYC 4 1/2 yrs ago and are now putting our house for sale if you need to buy one.... so we can get out of here.. but remember we are from the city so this is toooo slow for us. Sounds like it is exactly what you are looking for though.

You do realize that the cheaper parts of SC are half or more black? It's nothing like small-town upstate NY which is 95% white. Just sayin'.

we bought a house down here 6 months ago and we love it down here. we also come from upstate ny and don't miss it a bit. the economy is just as bad down here as it is up there. you guys are in the right field for employment that's for sure. there are many jobs in the nursing and related fields. just to help you out a bit here are the websites for nc's employment office and sc's employment office. if you need more info on anything about this area let me know because we moved to area near there. https://www.ncesc.com/default.aspx

Were leaving, too humid, don't like to sit inside. Also don't own a boat either.
