You will need to learn to drive. With a NYC background think "suburbia" for anyplace you may move.
How long have you been in SC? Do you love it? I'm waffling. lol
I've lived in places where I had to drive so I have my license and it's up to date. I just haven't driven in a very long time.

Probably 95 percent or more of SC residents have never been to Bamberg.

Aiken is only SC town I would recommend between i20, i95, i26 and the border with GA. Fairly popular with retirees and gives you small town life with decent number of restaurant

I am wondering how/why you picked those two places, especially Bamburg.

I've been in SC for a little over a year now. Love it. NMB is only 16K population (full time residents).
But I left NYC a long time ago and have lived in Florida and then Texas.
I didn't drive at all when I lived in NYC but drive all the time now.

Honestly if you are not sure then just visit for a month or so to get a feel for what living is like outside of NYC.
You will either love it or hate it.

Well, my Niece and her husband bought a house in Bamberg and should have been there already except we got hit with the virus so they're still in the process of moving. My brother, her father, is moving in with them. The Charleston area is where my daughter and her family are talking about moving. Otherwise, I wouldn't know the difference.

I have a friend whose sister in law lives in Aiken and I've spoken with her. She seems happy there and said only good things.

But, just curious, what took them to Bamburg? A job at one of the colleges? There’s just not a whole lot there.

Huge differences between Charleston and Bamburg.

That’s why I was curious. There’s not a lot there to just randomly move. At least Charleston has a lot of job opportunities, entertainment, restaurant, shopping, even beaches etc.
