Default Interracial couple in Aiken?

I am considering a move to Aiken or North Augusta S.C. How well is a black wife and a white husband recieved there? would we be better off in North Augusta or Aiken? we also have two interracial children so we want them to go to a good school where they will not encounter racial problems.

Aiken. I lived in North Augusta for most of my life (and not the 'perfect' little suburbia parts of town either). It's not that I don't like NA, but I think Aiken would better suit your needs. And for the record, Aiken county has some of the best schools in the state (not the best, but pretty close).

Out of the two..Aiken is definitely more progressive minded..North Augusta is a bit "Old South" in mentality as a whole..Can't really comment on the school aspect..Although the better schools in each are pretty much comparable..I think.

Aiken Area 1 schools are very nice. You do not see a ton if interracial couples BUT I also think for MOST everyone it will be a non-issue. We lived in Aiken for almost 10 years and loved it! Aiken is a lovely community and I hope you enjoy your time there.

North Augusta or Aiken would be a good choice. The prices in North Augusta are more affordable than Aiken and they have great recreational facilities at Riverview Park.

Aiken has good schools and Citizens Park for the kids. Hopeland gardens is a beautiful park for the adults. The Odell weeks center has tennis courts, indoor/outdoor basketball courts, and walking track.

Good luck
