Default Commute to Lake City

If working in Lake City, which town would be the best to live in?
Looking for new construction with a quality builder. Would like to be able to go to the beach but do not want to commute more than 1 hour.
Two adults, children all grown and gone.
Preferably a community not overrun with crime.

There are many new homes being built in the South Florence area that might work and within about an hour to the beach.
