Looking for Aiken area small farm
We are looking for some input about buying a small farm or some acreage around the Aiken area. We live in the Jersey shore & would like a place to go to during the winter months. Any idea about prices etc? We are in our 60's & need a slower pace.

We just bought land in Aiken last summer and David Stinson of Eulalie Salley was super. He spent 2 days with us and we found exactly what we wanted. He even took us to dinner and introduced us to some people he thought we'd like who already live there.
A lot of our friends have purchased land in the the 20-100 acre sizes and prices range from $3000 an acre on up. But prices are definitely rising so I suggest you make an appt with a realtor for a weekend and go shopping as soon as you can. Pretty soon all us Floridians will have bought up all the land 
Stay at a B&B (we love Town & Country Inn!) and enjoy the feel of the town. We can't wait until we can move there!

closing on house in aiken next week
Love the town, the people...closing on a house in the horse district next week, most likely will spend half the time in Aiken and half in Florida...the horses will just learn to travel...lol |

Foxhilldreams - where are you in Florida if you don't mind my asking. We live outside of Ft Lauderdale and always enjoy finding new Aiken neighbors.

Hi Donza..My computer crashed, but I am almost back!! A few more adjustments. Just came back from Aiken. Spent 5 days getting the house ready for our summer visit. We are in Jupiter Farms, and will bring up our horses. It was just beautiful Weather perfect..Are you going up soon? Where did you buy? We are on Banks Mill!!! Let me hear from you...sorry about the gap in response..but computers will be computers..lol |

Hi...also in our 60's..left NJ in 1985 for Florida. Just bought a very much smaller house in Aiken and property that allows horses. Aiken is a beautiful place. We will be spending the summer. Our house in Florida is up for sale. Now the SC call us halfbacks...lol

Fox Hill Dreams - we are currently living in Stuart(selling our home) and will
be moving to Aiken along with our horse and dog family as soon as the sale is complete. We are always looking to meet and share Aiken info with other people making the same move. Possibly get a monthly or semi-monthly group of future Aikenites together. Any other Aikenites in the area let me know.
