Default North Augusta

Somewhere on this forum someone mentioned that if you reside in North Augusta and work in Augusta, GA you will pay additional taxes. If this is the case can someone let me know approximately how much more I would pay in taxes?

My goal was to move to Greenville, but I was told I will get more house, or at least a better, possibility even a little newer house for the money I'll willing to spend on a house compared to Greenville.

The next part of my research will be pretaining to the pay scale in Augusta, GA since that is where I will mostly end up working. I currently reside in CA and as a customer service rep in the insurance industry I make a decent salary. Of course I will make less in SC, but my money will go further since the cost of living in SC is more in sink with the price of housing.

Any information regarding my concerns would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Hi. I think you're referring to a discussion I participated in. We have lived on both sides of the Savannah River and it makes no difference. Lots of people live in GA and work in SC, or visa versa. Most people I know make the decision to live in one state or the other based on a school preference. We live in North Augusta, SC but we used to live in Augusta, GA.
