If you enjoy beautiful rural landscapes and a location in or near the mountains, look into towns such as Walhalla, Westminster, Landrum and Pendleton. These towns are all in the upstate, are a little bit 'country', and in privileged natural locations.

Default small towns

You may also want to check out Liberty, Six Mile, Easley or Dacusville. I guess it will depend on how far you want to commute and how much land you want.

I throw Aiken in the hat--zip code 29803 and 29801. My heart loves this town.
