Question Clemson

I am considering a move back to the Clemson area. It has been a long time since I have lived there. I rarely see any negetive threads regarding the area. It was always such a super place to live. Any updated info to get me started regarding the best middle schools in the area. We are in a private school at present but I cannot remember any private schools in that area? SC schools are ranked well above our current school system in Alabama, so I already realize just about any option will be an academic improvement. Also I would like to find a nice neighborhood if not directly in Clemson, perhaps the surrounding towns on the lake. I would prefer a smallar home since I am now in a monster I am ready to unload. Too much upkeep. I might even be interested in a small farm. Any pointers? Planning a trip in the spring to look around.

Central and Liberty are great areas. Still 'country' and land is available. Hartwell is getting expensive. My in laws live on the lake and the lot next to them sold last year for $1 million. LOT... no house. They are close to Townville. Townville is very small but close to lake access areas if you did not want to live on the lake. Seneca is growing and very close to Clemson. We live in Easley and it's a great place. I do not know of any private schools in the area. The Wren Dist. here in Anderson Co. (Dist 1) is considered the best in the county. Everyone moves in this area just so their kids can go to the Wren schools. We are about 30 min from Clemson. We can just hop on the 123 and be in downtown Clemson in no time. My husband graduated from there, so we do spend a lot of time in the Clemson area. Esp around football season.

Good luck with your search!

Thanks for the info. ITs a start. I knew things had changed but Clemson was just one of those places that you cannot shake. It is just an awesome place. I am a graduate of Clemson also. Sadly I have only been able to return a few times post graduating. The schools you were telling me about in Anderson Co. how large are they? My son will be entering the 7th grade. He will absolutely love being near a college town. Ideally I would like to live on the lake but suspected that lots and houses were probably outrageous by now. Do you live in Anderson?

OOPS!! I missed that you lived in Easley. I vaguely remember the surrounding town Seneca, Pendleton, Easley, Liberty ...They were all very pretty. The lake developments had just begun to take off when I graduated. Never should have left. Clemson and surrounding area was like Heaven on Earth compared to some of the places I have lived since. UGH!! We attended a wedding in Atlanta during the holidays where one of the reception songs was Tiger Rag and the room was filled with Clemson grads. It was so nice to be back in the midst of it all. And no one can say enough good about the area. One of the few places when you get on this blog that you virtually rarely hear any negetive. Again thanks for the info.
