Sorry about the title, but I really need help.
I am moving form the UK so any info would be much appreciated.
Having recently visited Summerville I've realised the housing market isn't very strong at the moment, I was hoping to be realtor but being a realtor without any local experience probably isn't the best job in the world at the moment.
I have 3yrs experience as an electrician so I was wondering if anybody could give me any info on this subject.
1. What British Qualifications would I need to train as an electrician in the USA.
2. What licences would I need once I arrive.
3. What would a self employed electrician expect to earn.
4. Are electrician in demand.
5. And any other relevant info.

Thank you very much in advance for your kind responses.

Go to this forum, and you will see a section about jobs and licenses, etc. Or you can ask questions of other Brits. I can't help you with the license thing, but I know there are lots of openings for electricians in the paper. Good luck.

Yes, you will probably do much better finding work as an electrician instead of as a realtor.

Here's the site to look up South Carolina licensing requirements: http://www.llr.state.sc.us/pol.asp

Keep in mind that a middle-class English accent is a big asset in any job dealing with the public. Americans generally like and trust the British.

Americans generally believe the Welsh to be horse thieves, though, so be wary.
