Default Coastal SC homeowners insurance rates

I have a job interview in Bluffton soon. I'd like to know in the back of my mind what the actual cost of living will be if I relocate to the area. I'm originally from Savannah, currently living in Florida. Our rates, even inland, have jumped up alarmingly. What's the lastest up there?

I'm going to halfway answer my own question, since I've noticed that there is not alot of action in the Bluffton/HHI area on this forum, but I'd love to hear from some actual residents.

Seems that Allstate has stopped writing policies in coastal SC altogether.

That doesn't sound so great. It happened several years ago in Georgia when Liberty Mutual somehow dropped a bunch of folks on the coast. Other company's insurance charges are going up, as well.

Yet another unknown.....
