Does anyone know any or where I can find any special schools for learning disablities? I don't care if they are public or private. My family is moving south to be closer to my mother and need to find a school for my 10 year old daughter. She is classified with a reading disablity. I'm not stuck on any certain area we will go wherever we can get her the help she needs. Please any info would be great

Nicole

Hi!

I actually live in Charlotte, NC, but we are right near the border of North Carolina and South Carolina. I have a friend whose child has learning disabilities, and he attends The Fletcher School in Charlotte. There is also Dore Academy for learning disabilities. I have no personal experience with either of these schools, but I know my friend has really liked Fletcher. Not sure how far south you were looking to move.

Hope this helps!

The Sandhills School in Columbia, SC, is for that sort of thing, i.e. dyslexia, and the like.

I have a son with ADD and we are looking into Fletcher School and Dore Academy, both on the south side of Charlotte. We are in the process of moving from S. Florida, so I don't have any information on either school. Just that they are expensive!!
