Yep, and that is crazy! We moved here wanting to live within 10-15 minutes from the beach, not 45 minutes to 1hr! It is crazy! Guess we will come visit my mother who is retired and can afford it more than I can! She got in on the purchase at the right time! I would have loved to stay but no industry here and cost too much!

Yes, it sucks!!!

We bought a lot in Three Runs at White Pond and Banks Mill. I am very excited about our move. What a lovely town. Are you a true Aikenite?

Default Why we want to relocate!

Hi!
We've been thinking and planning a relocation since I recently retired from education after 35yrs. We've traveled throughout the Carolina's Georgia etc and seemed to be always drawn back to the Greenville,SC area. When we first visited Greenville we were amazed at the unique city. We fell in love. The "swinging bridge" at the far end of town, the ease of parking and getting around, and the friendly people everywhere. We are looking at a development in Easley, about 2o minutes from Greenville, and maybe 15 minutes from Clemson University if you are a major college sports fan as we are. Obviously the biggest attraction will be th ability to sell our existing house in NJ and have a new home built with hopefully no mortgage. Taxes are low; cost of living much less than NJ, and the weather is alot warmer than the Northeast. We visited in June, August and again in November to get a sense of the climate/seasons. In June we ventured 25 minutes North and were amongest beautiful State Forest and Whitewater Falls. In the Clemson area you are surrounded with lakes, fishing if you desire.
We are use to driving 20 minutes to a grocery store and shopping. In the area we are looking at, those entities are only several minutes away. If everything goes well we hope to relocate before the Fall season

Hi, I am moving to Charleston from Cleveland. I love Cleveland and living downtown in a fairly big city. Right now I live in a brand new two bedroom apartment in downtown Cleveland and it is only $1100 a month...In comparison, downtown Charleston seems quite expensive, but I am sick of the winter weather...I move down next weekend. I'm so excited (can't wait for beach season!).
