Thank you so much for your responses. We are still looking at developments. Is Pinecrest a nice, safe neighborhood? We have narrowed our search to Pinecrest, Island West, or Heritage Lakes. We were at Lady's Island once. We enjoyed Beaufort.

Question Looking for feedback for potential relocation to Bluffton area

Hi, Not sure how long ago these posts were completed as the dates go back and forth between years. I have an opportunity for a new job in Bluffton but have no knowledge of the area. I've read this series of postings and still have the following questions:
What impact has the downturn in the economy had on the area?
Which owns are better options to live in relation to social activities (I'm learning social/latin/ballroom dancing), shopping (I understand there are no shopping warehouses such as Costco, Sams Club....), traffic, crime and job opportunities (for my financee)?
Are non southerns welcomed or shunned?

I lived in NY for the majority of my life (not in NYC but about 45 mins away), and relocated out west. I'm concerned that the area might be too rural.

I'm looking for approximately 2 - 3 acres of property within about a half hours commute to Bluffton.

Feedback - suggestions Pleassseeeee!!!

thanks so much!!
