Builders in Aiken, South Carolina (apartment, to rent, home builders)

I was wondering if anyone has anything to say about which are the best and the worst home builders in Aiken...What do you get for your money in a house? Do you have to upgrade to get something nice all the time? Do some builders give you more for your money? Keystone builders I know, you have to upgrade to get anything nice and they are not custom builders..Size of rooms also..who gives you large kitchens and entertaining areas...also large walkin master closets? Please can anyone help? Moving to Aiken in a couple of months and would like to build a house...will rent until it is built...Also where is a nice place to rent, either a house or an apartment would be fine..2-3 bedrooms and they have to take animals..we have 2 cats......Thanks Barbara

We are using Wolf Construction, the owner is Sean Wolf and he is building us a home where we have changed some things etc. He is giving us an allowance for the counters, cupboards, plumbing carpeting etc. so that I can choose anything I like. He seems open to changes and his price seems right in line if not lower than the other builder we spoke to. He also had good references and reputation.

Haven't moved yet...House hasn't sold...Love Aiken,..Going down in Nov....Have a lot of relatives in Melbourne Florida....I love it there also....out priced there w/ costs of everthing....Barbara

Sean Wolf built my house and I am not going to be moving in it. I cannot sell my house in FL. It is a big house on 8.6 acres. It has tons of custom features. If you are interested e-mail me.

A great builder in Aiken is Rusty Findley of Findley Construction. He built our house 14 years ago, and we liked him so much that we used him again when we decided to move last year. He has been building houses in Aiken for over 30 years and is regarded as one of the most respectable home builders in the area. He is completely custom and extremely easy to work with. Just google Findley Construction to get his contact information and to see some of his work.

Donny Schafer is my favorite builder in Aiken South Carolina. Their homes are top quality.
I use to go to church with he and his family - they are top notch people.
Anyway, they have a website - also, they'll send you a video of their home building techniques.
Their homes may cost a bit more but the quality is superb.
