Doesn't look good down there, anything below a line from Anderson to Greenwood to Rock Hill, will primarily be rain. May start out with a few flakes around daybreak, but will quickly transition to a sleet/freezing rain to rain since temps will be 33 to 38 by noon, and 40 by 6pm.
North of that line, enjoy the snow(more north, the more you get total, and longer it falls). Along I-85 through GSP into Gastonia and Charlotte, and north to the Triad, snow to sleet to freezing rain to rain and possibly back to freezing precip. later in the evening now, and not expected to get too warm Friday through Sunday, so those who suffer power outages, be prepared for the cold.

I sold my house in Upstate NY cuz I got fed up with having snow for 4 months of the year. If you are into snowmobiling and skiing it's fun but otherwise is just a PITA.

Now I just want warmth and palm tees.

Why don't you just drive your kids up into the mountains?

Good idea. I'm dreading my 3/4am drive up from Boiling Springs to Charlotte. Then from 5/530am to 7am drive up to Greensboro that day. If schools are all called out/off up there, problem solved..BUT, then i still have to get back home too.

Greenville, Woke Up to about 3" with more to come! It is so pretty when you only have to deal with it once or twice a year!

Schools closed.
