the real scoop on the school system in SC? (homes, buy)

are the schools in SC becoming more liberal and socialized like they are up north?

Are they teaching academics or social engineering(gay lifestyle, faults diversity, etc) in the public schools.

wondering if we should enroll our child in public or private when move back home to SC, we know private is best but I want to believe that the values of my neigbhors and community are the values in the classroom and not the values of NYC and Boston and SF.

That is widespread. I would suggest on educating your children on the "Truth" and informing them of the "Lies" they will hear in the PS system and then maybe pray about it. And if Hillary gets into office, maybe move out of the country, I know I will. LOL!

i am not moving out of MY Country which my family has fought and died for since the Revolutionary war. No, we will raise her either with homeschooling and Christian school if the case is that even the good christian teachers are adding antichristian principles in the PS in the most conservative state in the union.

depends on what you mean as wrong. I dont think it is wrong, just as long as it is fair, since we as christians make up part of the US population and as long as the teachers are not promoting religion yet not keeping children from expressing their christian views in the context of the class you.

I think public school should be Public, meaning all who are in the public are being served since they pay taxes and that the schools are teaching academics--reading writing mathematics science history government art and music.

social engineering by Christians or non christians should not take place. So, i am not against teaching or the "theory of evolution" in a PS science class, as long as it is taught as it is a Theory and other viewpoints are also added. Or if they are going to teach Civics and current affairs, it is not the teachers position to indoctrinate a student to their viewpoint but to teach the student research and discuss and think on the issues and form their own opinion.

so Christians, Jews, non believers, and others should be served but nothing pushed from a athiestic or christian perspective

I hear how bad or not bad the school system is in sc, but yet little on comparison to other states, so just how does the overall school system rank compared to all the other states.

statistics, well some of those are only as good as how they are gathered, some decent some total garbage.

the north south thing really gets old just as the black white thing does, redncks, hillbillys, white trash, yankees, what's next people bickering over religion, oh wait we do that too, as they say build a bridge and get over it, i like vanila ice cream you may like chocolate, so what neither is right or wrong just a matter of choice, opinion & taste that we as individuals acquire through our own thoughts as individuals processing information as we think it should be.

now onto how should kids be taught, now if i'm reading this right your wondering that kids should be possibly taught only your beliefs & thoughts & none other, whether there right or wrong.

i do believe that is called closed mindedness, (just examples people so don't get your feathers all ruffled)what if say jews come about & say kids should all be taught jewish beliefs, or how about muslem teachings.

isn't it the educators job to teach the normal reading, writing, math, etc, a general well rounded education, regardless of there own beliefs, to prepare them for the real world so they can function in ALL societies.

but also to make them think both inside the box & out for themselves not to say you will think as i think & only as i believe, if that were the case then we need a leader such as castro, sadam, or how about hugo, mayby even mr nuke in iran.

to form there own opinions & beliefs based on several forms of knowledge, each to be formed into there own, not a system of it's my way or no way at all.

people in general are too quick to judge & form an opinion on what they see or hear, were all guilty of it but there just opinions & beliefs and should never be forced upon another.

we all fart, we all slober on our pillows at night, were humans & each has it's own faults, so why do we insist on the i'm better than you principle, if you don't think as i do then your wrong theory.

they should take all religion out of school and let people make up their own mind on that. school should teach reading writing ect and try and set the kids up for life in the real world. it is shocking the amount of young adults who can not even balance a check book . teach them what they need to live and get buy as adults .keep religion out as that should be a very personal thing and not something you go around pushing your feeling on to others

what schools have religion in them? none that I know of except the new agers trying to push buddhism and yoga on many kids today--other than that their isnt any religion in school today

how about the pledge every day i think god is in there. there should be no religion at all none .

we have the pledge and thats where it stands, thats not religion, establishment of a religon is the issue constitutionally and it doesnt specify a religion just God

so no prob with that, but thats also why my kid will go to private Christian school for that kind of instruction. but since they took pray out of schools, I am still held hostage to pay taxes for public schools I will never use nor do I support--so I guess its what I have to live with
