Default I Love SC!!!

Check out the New York, NJ, Massachuesetts and See how the Yankees attack Southerners and the South!!

They complain on the SC forum and other southern state forums of being treated a certain way, being called Yankees and such, but the HYPOCRISY is that they are doing the same thing up there.

They equate the South with rednecks, while they forget, or in their Racist behavior ignore that Black people make up 45% of the South and so are they attacking us as well?

I love SC, i dont care what they say about the schools, the rednecks, our accents, our Grits or our love of Jesus Christ. We in Charleston SC actually have the oldest Jewish Synagogue in the Nation, but yankees wouldnt know that because they are blinded by hate--much like their Bush hating liberalism.

I love SC and I know there are many many people who are natives and transplants do to. If you dont like it, then help us all out, they the Heck away, thanks--it will keep our traffic and our housing costs down.

This isn't a forum for you to be discussing race relations. I'm sure you can find another place for that. I know you have a wealth of info about SC, so why don't you concentrate on that. Tell people how nice Charleston is.

Have a nice day!

No, I'm not one of "them." I have lived in SC for 16 years, and I am from England. I find arguing about North/South, black/white boring. I prefer to discuss more interesting things.

I know you know a lot about SC/Charleston. So tell us the good stuff!

i do all the time, no one wants to discuss it--i leave messages and they go undiscussed. I am incredibly amused that certain people get upset about the other issues, thats why the R issue never gets resolved because people want to sweep it under the rug.

I am here anytime to discuss the lowcountry SC, which I love so much--though I seem to talk to myself when i discuss that--which i too find more interesting.

my husband and I would like to live at either Mount Pleasant or Murrell's Inlet, but we are waiting to hear the homeowner's insurance debacle. do you know anything? We live in Columbia right now. We love it here, but would like to live near the beach.

You are cracking me up. It is nice to hear that you love where you live so much. I love a lot about where I live too. (South Jersey.) We are looking to relocate due to the fast pace, lack of values/morals in the area, and taxes, taxes, taxes. Oh, and the area is crowded.

It seems to be a big circle.
People moved from the North to our little towns and up go the taxes- and we want to run for our lives.

It is a tough decision for me. The Clover area seems similiar to all of the good that I have here. Yet I can still gain new experiences. Most natives seem to welcome us in. We live in an incredible country, blessed by the hand of God. How fortunate are we to be born in a place- where we have the choice and opportunity to relocate and look for better life.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!

my family has been in Mt Pleasant since before the American Revolution, we own homes and property in Sullivans Island and Mt Pleasant and I love it.

it is a bit more expensive than the places more inland like Summerville, but thats because it is an upscale beach community.

It has great schools, restaurants, recreation sites, historic sites, wonderful communities, 5 minutes to the beach, great golf and fishing and shopping and the only draw back is the traffic on 17.

Other than that you can get townhouses from $160K-to houses in the millions.

Check out Hibben
Dunes West
Park West
Old Village MP
Hamlin
I'on --is awesome

thanks for the great information. will check those places out. it's nice that your family has been in that area for such a long time - that's unusual these days.

i know, when you do research of the area you will see that the Gullah people-black creoles from Sierra Leone brought here to cultivate rice and the Hugenot-French Protestants who fled europe because of religious persecution formed a lasting culture along with the english colonists--Charleston area is very historic. My aunt is from the Pinckney family who signed the declaration of independence and whose home is in our neighborhood and we even know the family and live near the plantation my family worked for--right around the corner from my house.

History is real and alive there and it makes me proud of all aspects of being American and South Carolinian.

ask any questions you have and i will try and help and thank you for helping me see there are better things to talk about than arguing with silly people with stereotypes.
