Default Gun laws?

Havent hunted in SC since I was a boy. What are the rules, laws for purchasing shotguns? is there a waiting period? are the rules strict and are hunting licenses hard to get?

Micah Hall is on a distinguished road
It has been a while since I bought my last shotgun but, as memory serves me, there was not a waiting period at all. They did do a background check but it just took a few minutes. When buying a shotgun (or any gun for that matter) some places won't let you purchase a gun and ammunition in the same transaction. I actually had to pay for the gun, take it to the car, and then come back in and buy the ammunition. I don't know if that is all gun shops, or just this one in particular.

thanks, that is good information. I am moving back hopefully in a few years, when my daughter is about school age, to Mt Pleasant and I want to be able to golf, fish, tennis, hunt and ride horses as much as possible and looking for good hunting places around there
