New age? It's been like that for years. It's illegal to keep your daughter locked up in her room indefinitely.

I'm with you, bblaine. That is wayyyy too young. I'm sure every reasonable person understood exactly what you were saying!

I concur. My daughter turned 8 on Monday, so she's got 6 years of freedom left...

(also joking)

anyone ready flowers in the attic? I say it's never too old to lock 'em up!
JK.
I can add--WOW. 14 yrs old, man i find it tough now and my "little girl" is 20. Telling a young teen that it's legal at 14 is like giving a 16yr old the keys to a vette and telling him there's some beer in the glove box and to go let off a little steam.
Young kids can not always make good decisions on their own; they do at times need some help/influence/structure... I know, I had very little in my teens and the outcome was not always good.....

Are you sure this is right? I'm pretty sure the age was higher up. At least that's what they told us in health.

This can be changed in the November election ... we received our ballots this week (absentee voting.)

The Statewide Constitutional Amendments ... Amendment 1

'Must Section 33, Article III of the Constitution of this State (SC) be amended so as to delete the provision that no unmarried woman shall legally consent to sexual intercourse who shall not have attained the age of fourteen years.

A 'Yes' vote would delete this section from the South Carolina Constitution and let the state legislature set the age of consent.

A 'No' vote leaves the section in place as is.

It's difficult to believe that has been in the SC Constitution all this time anyway.
