Seems a lot of people like to jump on the south for poverty & such but i just wonder how it would actually compare to illinois, the results may be surprizing.

Poverty in Illinois is getting worse, with nearly 700,000 Illinoisans living in extreme poverty and nearly 1.5 million living in poverty in Ilinois -- 100,000 more than last year.

Those who live in extreme poverty live on an annual income of less than half the poverty line. For example, an Illinois family of three in extreme poverty has a monthly income of less than $692. Individuals who are poor fell an average of $3,236 below the poverty line while poor families fell an average of $8,125 below the poverty line, the highest level on record.

Over the last decade, Illinois has cut $1.171 billion from public services, 125,183 working families in Illinois who receive food stamps year-round.

Illinois' poverty rate fell to the fifth worst in the eight Midwest states with a 12 percent poverty rate, Last year, Illinois was ranked the worst in the Midwest with a 17.7 percent poverty rate.

would anyone have any idea were sc might range in poverty levels vs. il, any stat crunchers out there.
i just picked sc since that is most likely were i will be relocating from il.
