Using that logic, none of the cities mentioned would be worth considering, since each are only partially passed through and the heart of each would not be seen from the interstate. Greenville is between Charlotte and Simpsonville, and is definitely worth the minimal extra miles of driving to visit the heart of the city. In my opinion, that word, "visit," is the key to understanding the question without additional criteria. "A nice city to visit" indicates that someone is interested in spending a variable amount of time there, not simply driving through along the way to another destination. Again, without more information, it is a considerable suggestion at the very least.

Default Bowman

It seems like Bowman is the exact halfway point but it doesn't look like there is a lot to do there. I would recommend Santee, which is nearby and has lots of good barbecue and restaurant options.

Bowman is nowhere near charlotte. Santee is in a different part of the state than op wants to be. Dint even know why these places come to mind

I'm guessing he was thinking Charleston rather than Charlotte, though ya it's the opposite side of the city
