Default SC unsigned bands

Any good suggestions of some unsigned artists from SC that you could recommend? My favorite that I've heard so far is this band, Marry A Thief. I think they're great. Check them out, if you haven't heard them already.

I don't mean to hijack your thread, but it made me think of something I've been questioning and since it's quasi-related I thought I'd post it here instead of creating a new thread.

How come good bands don't come to Columbia? I'm not talking about headliners that go to the civic center (or wherever they hold concerts), but big-name non-mainstream folks that play bars and such. Like when I look at show/tour listings for groups like Hank Williams III, Those Poor Bastards, .357 String Band, J.B. Beverley, Joey Allcorn, etc I see them playing all around SC but not in it (III & TPB did hit Spartanburg once, 2 years ago...). Why is that?

The demand is there, but I think Columbia's non-mainstream music market gets cannabalized by great mid-sized or small venues in Charleston, Charlotte and maybe Myrtle Beach. My understanding is that Columbia had some great smaller venues in the 80's or early 90's.

I think those huge acts come to the Colonial Life Arena because the midlands doesn't have much competition for that type of big-name entertainment, so tickets sell very well.

Hi
Im here to champion the cause for a fantastic internet video channel for unsigned bands and artists.
http://www.thedownloadgeneration.com streams 24hrs a day playing an eclectic video mix of the pure global unsigned!
They are looking for unsigned acts to submit videos for streaming. Its as simple as that! Its free,no catch,no subscription, and no false promises!, its simply an expanding unsigned video community. Somewhere for us all to belong to and an opportunity to view our videos in the right envoiroment, amongst their own, video jukebox style!.

For any unsigned band or artist with a video this is a no brainer!. Word is gathering pace and http://www.thedownloadgeneration.com is going to be the place to be seen for us 'as yet undiscovered'!. As said - No Catch!.

Besta Luck All!
Chuckie
