I see you are in FL.. Coastal SC weather is very similar to northern FL. weather from spring through fall.

If you are looking at the St. Matthews area, the summers are a bit more oppresive there. You have the standard heat and humidity (which is amplified a bit there if you are near the swamps) but there is a large lack of wind there.

The sandy soil lends well to vegetable gardens growth. I've extended family just SE of St. Matthews and their gardens always mature much faster than ours in the Piedmont.

The threat of snow/ice in the lower part of the state is much lower than the Rock Hill area.

South Carolina has humid, hot summers. Very rare snow- when it does snow, it's usually less than an inch & melts by noon (of course, all the schools close).
