Default Coming Down Next Month!

Hi all, I'm thrilled to be coming down to SC next month with my husband to check it out! (Thank goodness for tax returns.) Riht now, we are checking around Goose Creek and Summerville. We are from Long Island, NY and while it is the only place we have ever lived and our family is here, it has become so very expensive. Although a move would be emotioanlly tough, I know we can make new and wonderful friends dowe in SC if we put ourselves out there.

Question--Comparing Summerville to Goose Creek--is either one considered to be rural??
THANKS

Well I wouldn't say either are rural anymore. You can be in some rural areas pretty quickly once you leave them though. If your desire is to meet and make friends I wouldn't suggest living in the rural areas. You'd be better off in one of the newer neighborhoods in town.

We moved from Long Beach, LI last year and love it. Moved to the Pawleys Island area and it couldn't be nicer. One of the reasons we liked the area is because it reminded us of Long Island a couple of generations ago. We have children in the scholls and have been impressed so far.

Hi--Thanks for the replies-We are in Saint JAmes. It's so good to hear LI' ers are happy in SC. Where is Pawleys Island?
I really can't wait to come down. This will hopefully be the first of several trips down to decide on an area to live.

Pawleys Island is a little over an hour north of Charleston on Rte 17. About a half hour south of Myrtle Beach, so close enough to metro areas without the traffic & trouble.

Hi,

That's also where I plan on moving to as soon as i sell my house. I love Boiling Springs I thoght it was a really nice town, I was also looking in to Inman, Boiling Springs is just more built up though, more things around and available, but still the calmness of country living.
