Coastal property insurance reforms will be announced at the State House today by Gov Mark Sanford.

I have a bad feeling about this whole deal. Most of the proposals that I've seen involve the state subsidizing the cost of insurance for people living on the coast. I think the high premiums reflect the high risk, and that's the way it should be. Livin on the coast ain't cheap! But I have faith in Sanford, he's a very smart guy.

the coast is what brings in the tourist dollar though. it's a double-edged sword.
