Default Florence

We are contemplating a move to Florence, SC in the near future. We have visited once and both the area and the people seem nice. Can any folks familiar with the immediate Florence area provide info?

I am also contemplating moving to Florence area from NJ. It just seems dollar goes further there. I've read the horror stories about crime there (cocaine alley, etc) but I've done some checking and from what I hear it doesn't seem to spill over to the suburbs. I have the phone number of the sheriff's dept if you'd like. I'm looking at Darlington and Marion right now (online only). Am planning to take trip there in May. Email me privately if you'd like to stay in touch.

tilleysmom, I would imagine that some of these places like Florence, Sumer, Darlington, Marion, etc. would be a real culture shock to someone from New Jersey. I'd strongly recommend visiting first, and stay as long as is reasonable. Myrtle Beach isn't at all similar to the rest of the state.
