We will be moving from Charlotte to York, SC in the fall and am starting to research movers. We do not want to rent a Uhaul and move ourselves. I got a quote from Two Men and a truck of about $600 (moving a 2 bedroom apartment). I was however told that they are expensive (I agree that the $ seemed high) and that they are not very good. Anyone have any experience with them?
ANY and ALL recommendations appreciated/
Thanks.

I used a Paul Arpin subsidiary from NY and was very happy with them. They seem to have a good reputation and high standards.

Seems like all over, not just in NC they are a problem. Thanks so much for the link to that site.

Two Men is a franchise system with great reputation in many areas, but not so great in others. Check the BBB. You may consider Matthews Moving in Charlotte

I can tell you that 2 men and a truck in Columbia is absolutely terrible. Here is the quick list of things they messed up. leaked oil all over my brand new driveway, put a hole in the kitchen wall, banged up a piece of molding in the hallway, scraped the front of a nightstand, a dresser and the bed foot board. They lost the light cover from the inside of the fridge and broke another dresser so badly, they kept it on the truck and wouldn't let me see it. If I ever move again I would carry my stuff on my back and walk down the road before I ever use 2 men and a truck again.
