Actually, AZ was & still is our dream, it's wonderful aside from the heat!
But the views and scenery here are amazing, nothing like it! But when you work for the Federal BOP, the best/easiest way to move up, is to be willing to be mobile, and that is where we stand at this point. So we choose places we are willing to go to, and who knows if we'll actually go to any of them. SC wouldn't be my 1st choice, but we have family in the Savannah, GA area, so this would be a compromise for us, we don't want to go back to GA, at this point, but SC is close enough. We definitely want to stay out of the northern states, been there done that! The last yr we lived up north, we endured 3 blizzards! I know the heat is horrible here right now, but it only will last until fall, and then it will be heavenly again! I would rather endure the heat, than the blizzards!

I'm also trying to move to SC from Hawaii. Love the low-country and want to be between Charleston and Savannah but Estill (and other rural prisons) will be the deciding factor. Is it possible to commute? Is there a comunity 'feel' there. No kids to worry about. I work in Human Resources and am not sure which direction to commute. Any suggestions?

Hello we are trying to sell our house in Bradenton, Florida. Our community is less than a block from the Sarasota Bay. The community comes with a marina, community pool, boat launch, park and community center. The house is 3 bedroom 1 1/2 baths with a 1/4 acre lot with fruit trees. We are selling just above the mortgage pay off on our house $160,000. We just put a new roof on last year and had all new hurricane resistent windows and doors installed. The house is newly stuccoed and painted. We are less than 1/2 an hour from the beach. The elementary school is in our neighborhood and the boys ride their bikes to school and to the library. Both our boys are honor roll kids and like their schools very much. This is a very nice family community and we have several police officers and sheriff department officers in our community. One of our friends works at the Manatee County Prison so that is less than 30 minutes away.

I'm sure you are wondering why we are selling. We are from the Carolina's and are trying to move closer to our parents. Both sets are gettin up there in years and we need to be with them now.
