Default Looking for houses Thursday in Greenville....

Hi All!
I posted on the Greenville forum but thought I would try my luck here as well. Hubby, son (10months) and I are relocating to Greenville....SOON. My husband is officially out of the Army (yeah!) and has accepted a job with Fluor in Greenville. We are making the 6 hour drive from Clarksville, TN to Greenville on Thursday to hopefully find the house of our dreams.

I'm bug-eyed from internet research and think I've narrowed it down to Simpsonville, specifically the Kilgore Farms, RiverWalk or Stonehaven developments. I am originally from Long Island, NY and after living in Clarksville, Tn for 3 years (an over-grown rest stop, IMO) I am so ready for a change. I have come to enjoy the "small town" feel that I first loathed when I moved here from NY but miss the shopping, restaurants and other social pasttimes that abound in NY but lack in TN. I feel like Greenville is going to give me the best of both worlds and I am so excited about our move. I'm not looking to live in the woods, I want to be able to get to the food store in 5 minutes. Seems like Simpsonville will offer all the necessary evils of everday life? Any input is much appreciated! Thanks!!

Simpsonville is a good choice if you want to be close to activities. You should also be considering Greer, Taylors, Mauldin.

Have you thought about renting for a short period to get to know the town before buying? Many apartments here will do month to month. Put your belongings in "PODS" and don't have them deliver for a month or two.
