Default Is Bluffton buggy??

Hi,
I've been reading various posts regarding the Palmetto Bug...umm..roach...wondering if anyone is in/near Bluffton that can tell me if they are a common visitor there ...is Bluffton a buggy are in general?

If the answer is yes, it may truly keep us from moving there as I am extremely bug phobic.

Thanks!

Would it be the same in the Greenville area ?? I know it's cooler there and they get four distinct seasons if I'm correct...maybe not so bad there??

Wherever you are in the south there will be bugs. You can lessen the number of bugs by being on higher ground and away from water sources. The dryer your micro-climate at home, the less bugs you'll see. Also avoid using mulch or pine straw in flower/shrub beds. I use marble chips and they don't attract bugs.

Yes...we have them in fall and spring....when you can actually be outside without dying from heat stroke.
