A couple of guys I met talked about a BBQ place on HWY 25 near North Augusta that had the best BBQ ever. They looked like they knew about eating! Could this be the same place???

There is one final word in SC BBQ: McCabe's in Manning, SC. If McCabe's isn't available, D&H in Manning is a somewhat acceptable substitute.

Hell yeah, those are two of my favorites. I ate at McCabe's just a few months ago. Its been years since I've eaten at D&H.

Hudson's in Lexington and Shealy's in Batesburg (They come in Greyhound buses to eat). Mustard for true Southerners. Vinegar belongs on french fries. Ketchup on hotdogs.

Check out this interesting video about BBQ in South Carolina, produced by ETV. They highlight three local restaurants from various parts of the state, then interview a pro BBQ chef in Charleston, who gives pointers on properly cooking the meat.

Maurice's is my favorite, followed by Big T's, there is one on Garner's Ferry and one in the Eastover area, they have great food!! I do not like Sumter's BBQ at all, as I do not like the red sauce, only the yellow sauce. It is even hard to find the yellow sauce in the stores here so I can make my own!
