Adrienne,

It's not that I was not impressed with Seneca...it had some nice areas and provides the majority of the shopping/dining outlets in the area, not to mention the hospital. I guess I was hoping for more.

I did not see Williamston.

I liked Walhalla and West Union because they seemed clean, but a little older. Closer to the mountains too, but very few restaurants (I think I counted two mom and pop operations). Visibility (of the mountains) was a factor for me. The closer you were, the more you saw them. The days were hot and hazy and from Greenville, the visibility was poor. This was not the case in Walhalla and West Union.

Regarding picking and choosing...Tigerville has my vote. Very nice, straight shot from Greenville (but not too far) and right at the base of the mountains.

It has a college, a brand new (and huge) north county recreation facility and the homes are very nice with great mountain views.

Daily shopping/dining needs can be met in Travelers Rest and special shopping/dining needs in Greenville.

Much of my interest in these towns stems from my desire to have a 24/7 close mountain view, so please take that into consideration when viewing my comments!

Keith

None of the above! Did not see S'ville at all...too far from mountains for me...see my post to Adrienne above.
