Question When can I expect tax bill for boat?

Last year I moved to SC and in December I was able to bring my boat to SC and get it registered through the DNR. I thought I would receive a property tax bill for the boat soon after registering it, but have not received a bill yet (its been about 5 months).

Does anyone know when I should expect the tax bill? Are the bills sent out at the same time as the tax bills for real estate or on the anniversary of the boat registration?

Thanks!

OK, I think I know the answer now. I went back to the DNR's website and dug around more and found this information:

"If your name is on SC Department of Natural Resources Titling and Registration Records as of December 31st, the County Auditor is generated a report in January, with your name, description of your boat/outboard motor. The County Auditor will assess this information and will forward you a personal property tax notice.

Example:

Jane Doe is on SC Department of Natural Resources Titling and Registration Records December 31, 2004.
January 2005, County Auditor received report from SCDNR.
Fall 2005 personal property tax is generated and mailed."

So, my boat was actually registered in late January (I forgot that the DNR needed additional info. from me and could not register and title my boat when I sent them the application in December), so the DNR will send the county my info. in January 2010 and I will receive a tax bill sometime in the fall of 2010. Can anyone confirm if I am correct?

Thanks!
