Can anyone comment on where they think the best overall rear round weather might be in South Carolina?

I'd say either up in the northwest corner of the state, in the mountain areas. Or, right along the coast, close to the water. The coastal areas are cooler in the summer, and warmer in the winter than inland areas.

However, people who aren't used to the weather have a tendency to complain no matter where in SC they live. It's going to be hot and humid in the summertime, no matter where you are.

I love the Upstate's weather. Each season is well represented and the extreme temperatures don't stay around very long. In the summer you have the mountains to "escape" to if it gets too hot, and the nearby lakes are great fun year-round.
