That's the thing, no props for feeling 'bad' and apologizing only b/c you got caught. Had he not been such a moron to leave the country for nearly a week and been able to continue to cover this whole thing up, there would have been no news conference today w/him apologizing publicly. It's just like steroids in baseball, all these athletes give these lame apologies after they got caught, do you hear anyone fessing up and showing genuine remorse before the test results come out revealing their guilt? Not a chance.

As for the governor, this lady from Argentina ought to be one heck of a catch for him to be willing to travel that far to be w/her, or he just thought it was 'safer' having his mistress far away as opposed to in the state.

Nonetheless, it's sad that these scandals/affairs involving our so-called public 'leaders' have become so common-place any more, that it's not even really a surprise when the stories come out. I guess Mark can head back to Sullivan's Island after his term is up next year and ride off into the sunset b/c his presidential hopes pretty much just went up in smoke.

The staff of Sanford says Sanford was hiking on the Apalacian trail...I never knew the trail extended to Argentina....

Morality and politics kinda takes on another meaning to some politicians. In Florida we had a politician that use to call on young boys...OMG! ! ! Whats next?

"Mahoney has admitted to at least two affairs. One was with a former staff member whom he paid to keep quiet about it. Still, he's refused to drop his bid for re-election, and a spokesman says Mahoney is "taking it one day at a time." Florida Congressman Drops Out of Debate Because of Cameras

Yeah Mahoney would not have received a pension if he removed himself so he waited and now is getting a lot of $$.$$ because his minimum term ended during the race for the seat.
Retirement may not have happened if he resigned when he was caught..

Hmmmm.... Seems Sanford found his own stimulus plan...

These idiots keep thinkin' they can run around and nobody will know and nobody will tell. In this era of the information age, that's just stupid... Perhaps he is presidential material, after all.

Oh, please. He lied to his wife up until 5 months ago, he lied to his staff, he lied to the press, he lied to the public, and when he got caught red-handed, he finally fessed up. He's a worm.

So how will the Republican party, which proclaims itself as the party of "family values," handle this? Talk about hypocrisy! The man was in the arms of his mistress ON FATHER'S DAY, while his 4 children probably worried about where Dad was. Jerk. I hope he's forced to resign in disgrace, and I hope his family will get through this humiliation okay.

And now rumor has it that his affair was with someone 'important', could it be the president of Argentina..? We would really have a soap opera on our hands if that is the case..

Yes especially now that Sanford joins the ranks of Spitzer, Clinton, Kennedy, Edwards, and the like...
