If a mall in South Carolina is able to attract shoppers from a very large city in another state, it definitely has something great to offer. The title of the thread indicates that the poll options are designating "the worst mall in South Carolina." If the OP was not intending to convey that message, then the title should have been more carefully written. Haywood Mall is easily one of the BEST malls in South Carolina.
Tinabean actually named the mall which first came to my mind after reading the title and initial post. Greenwood Mall has been declining for several years and is all but dead.

They probably have family or business trips in the area. Haywood is a nice mall but Atlanta has all of the stores and more than Greenville. It would not make good economic sense to drive from Atlanta to Greenville just for the mall.

Obviously they have family living in Greenville (they're relatives), but believe it or not, they actually enjoy driving up just to shop at Haywood Mall and visit Greenville for a day or two, many times without telling their Greenville relatives that they're in town. They very rarely have business trips out of state, and have come to volunteer for local charity organizations a couple of times recently, but that is pretty much it. Their family visits are limited to approximately two or three trips per year.

I definetly don't think Haywood is the worst mall in the state, but it is not immune to problems. The "thugs" tend to overload the mall on the weekends and that keeps us away from it during those times. Get rid of that and I could vote it the best.

When is the worst times on saturdays to visit Haywood Mall on the weekends as far as the "thug element" is concerned. Do they overload the whole mall or just a section of it. In Augusta they seem to only take over the older part from Macys to the Food Court area but if you go to the new Promenade area then it is a whole different "affluent" crowd as far as weekends are concerned.

The poll to me is silly. How can anyone say which is the worst unless you've been to them all or at the very least know what's going on at them all? Honestly I can't remember the last time I was at a mall. Oh yeah back before Christmas.

If you look at shopping options and atmosphere. Augusta mall is ahead of Haywood and Columbiana. Apple opens July 3 at Augusta mall.

IMO, Augusta mall looks better and has better stores than Haywood and Columbiana. Haywood mall even after the 2005 rennovation. Still doesn't measure up to Augusta mall in the way it looks. Augusta mall is a enclose mall with a outdoor lifestyle center attached. Called the promenade.
Stores/restaurants that one mall has that the other doesn't yet.
Augusta mall Apple, Sephora, Silvina, Know Style, A.D. Buffalo(restaurant)
Haywood mall Guess, Eddie Bauer, J. Crew

A.D. Buffalo is a food court restaurant. It is not a big deal. Like I said before, Haywood, Columbiana, and Haywood are all great malls. They each have unique features that the others do not have.

You forgot to mention Haywood Mall has BCBG, Bare Escentuals, and Pottery Barn also. Coincidence? Apple is coming here too in late 2009/early 2010. Augusta Mall is nice but it's got nothing on Haywood.
