Huh? I go to the mall on weekends and haven't noticed thugs there in years.

Haywood and Riverchase Galleria in Birmingham are on par with each other. The Augusta Mall is gaining ground on Haywood. The Chop House, Barns & Noble, P.F. Changs, Jared and Apple just to name afew have really transformed the Augusta Mall from what is was jus two years ago which was nothing to brag about. With the Promenade area and new stores on the way, I would expect Augusta Mall to catch up to Haywoods upscale stores in the future. Haywood currently has an edge though on the upscale stores such as Bebe, J. Crew, Brookstone, but that gap is narrowing.

The last time i went to Haywood, It seemed like a very nice mall. I am surprised to hear that the crime problem is as big as it is there. I always felt safe there. I would think the Columbia Malls would have more riff raff than Haywood.

Where did you hear about a "crime problem" at Haywood Mall? There isn't a crime problem and that is why I have been trying to get someone to share any reason why it deserves to be considered the "worst mall" in the state. I also think it is interesting that someone voted for Haywood Mall at the same time you just posted your comment. Why do you think Haywood Mall is the worst mall in the state?

Haywood Mall is not a bad mall. I have been to far worst. Lennox the jewel of Atlanta has way more crime in a year than Haywood has in 10. If you are scared to shop at Haywood then stay at home, lock the door, never come out and shop online and chance a home invasion. The most dangerous part about shopping at Haywood is driving there and driving back home. You have a much better chance of dying or getting hurt in a wreck than at the Mall. Haywood is owned by the top mall management in the country and they are not going to let their malls go down.

Norton, I know you love Augusta. But the truth is it can't hold Greenville's jock strap. Sorry! And I'm very familiar with Augusta so this isn't just talk. You have lots of catching up to do and were on the move in Greenville, so its unlikely for Augusta to catch up.

Augusta and Columbia have similar stores but Greenville has more high end stores than Columbia. Why is that?

I'm not sure cycle, I know Greenville's leadership goes after what they want. As for Augusta though, its a nice city in its own right. But its demographics doesn't match Columbia or Greenville nor does it match in amenities, and its the booster's attempt to make others think or himself believe it does.
