Haywood in Greenville has very few thugs hanging out there. In fact there are very few in the city. If Augusta Mall or Oglethorpe in Savannah was added to the list, they would be right up there with the Columbia Malls

The thug situation at Augusta Mall is pretty bad. The problem is the mall management doesn't seem to want to do anything about it. Overall the mall itself is quite nice. It's light and airy, has a good mix of stores and the outdoor lifestyle center is nice. BUT the mall mngt really needs to get a handle on the thugs who intimidate others who are at the mall to shop or it will suffer.

What a bunch of crap. As usual lil musket is a hater sometimes. In the Augusta forum. When somebody asked how a valet parking service. Would do at the Augusta mall. Lil musket said he only visited the mall about 2-3 times total in years. So how would you know what the thug situation is like. And let me guess like some of the older white conservatives in the south. A thug is anybody who is dressed a certain way. Even if they're not a thug. Wow im so intimidated to walk past somebody in clothes that I don't wear. Oh so scary! lol.

Charleston's malls could be a lot better. Citadel Mall has transformed in the last few months. It used to be the nice mall with nice stores (like Parisian and R&M Sporting Goods), but now, you can't go ten feet in the mall without seeing an urbanwear store.

They have crime there all the time, as there's at least two shootings there a year. The mall is probably 20% vacant, with the ones coming in being different (like a model train exhibit). It also hasn't been renovated in many years (the entrances are original from the mall opening in the early 1980s).

Northwoods is just as bad, as them and Citadel basically share the same stores, have the same problems, and the stores are small. Northwoods is healthier, however, because of everything around it (all the shopping centers), so it does well.

Westgate looks really bad, with that mall being the one with lots of thugs in it.

Westgate has gotten a lot better than it once was since they instituted the escort policy a few years ago. Kids under 18 can't be in the mall past 6pm on weekends w/o an adult. They have security guards all over the place in there. Some weekends the place seems so quiet that it's hard to tell it is a Fri or Sat night. But with that said the store selection is not great at Westgate.

My personal opinion is that Haywood is by far the best indoor mall in the state. Clean, best selection of stores, best food choices, etc. I've been to most of the malls on the list and a few others. Went to Coastal Grande in MB for first time this summer--it is also a nice mall (newest in the state) but wasn't as nice as Haywood IMO.
