N. Korea Threat
Any South Carolinians familiar with N Korean nuke capabilities? I read everything I could on the political forum but no Korean vets or anyone with any actual insights over there. Everyone seems to dismiss the threat as a saber rattling impossibility..... What (and who) is behind this N. Korea thing and what do you think they are going to do?

North Korea knows that we are fighting two wars right now and we won't be able to do much about them. They know that they have Russia and China on their side and they love to run their mouth. They are very dangerous if they are given the capabilities to obtain a nuclear weapon as we all know. This is going to be a true test of the administration because sanctions aren't going to work with them.

Glad to see this post. I have been trying to find reliable news about what REALLY is going on over there to little avail. BBC is a good start, but I really would like a better understanding. I am getting the feeling that our media has been asked to hush about this. They aren't even talking abut the two journalists anymore, and I have heard very little about the ships we are supposedly following. I'm aorry, but when another country threatens to blow the US off the map, I like to be a little more informed...
Thanks to Gov. Sanford and Michael Jackson, we may never get any news.

Oh really, now, don't get your pants in a knot. The Dear Leader is just performing for his military and his wretched masses. The North Koreans already have the capacity to build a bomb or two and they want everyone to see that they will soon have the ability to put them on missiles and fire them at Japan or Hawaii. Do you really think even the admittedly mad-as-a-hatter DL is going to court the complete annihilation of his regime by launching an actual catastrophic act of war? This is just more performance art to stabilise his regime so that the Brilliant Leader (i.e. Kimie-poo's youngest bambino) can take over when the Dear (old) Leader drops dead from overindulgence and compulsive masturbation.

Hey Kimmie-- rep points to you. I felt the exact same way.....I feel like this information is being quieted by the White House so as not to further destabilize the global economy. The few comments I've seen on message boards seem to indicate that Kim Il Soon is just positioning for his son. With these lunatics you just never know. He has some nuclear capability, but it isn't clear exactly how much. He has threatened to wipe us off the map.....he may be a lunatic but it got my attention. This is the stuff we should be informed about. We are better served with an honest stream of information from Washington as opposed to a keep-it-quiet policy with the media. If he wants to make an impact, he will target July 4th. I have to say I'm concerned about everything going on in our world......

You're absolutely right, it's an evil conspiracy between the White House and the liberal media to destroy America. I simply cannot understand why the VP is not yelling every 10 minutes that we all need to be terribly afraid, then issuing a few more wiretap orders. Oh wait.... sorry, that was the last administration.

C'mon man, dust yourself off and enter the 21st Century -- it ain't "Kim Il Soon" (Soon what?). I think you're referring to the Great Leader, founder of the People's Democratic Republic of Korea and Eternal President (as specified in their constitution), Kim il-Sung (1912-1994). The Great Leader was succeeded by his son , the Dear Leader, Kim Jung-il (b. 1941) -- he's the looney toon in charge now. Dear Leader has recently announced that his youngest son, Kim Jung-un (does that mean Kim Jung-one?), currently age 25, will succeed him. The younger Kim was recently referred to by the N. Korean media as "Brilliant Leader" (brilliant, just billiant, I tell you...).
Don't you South Carolina folks have a bit more to worry about closer to home these days?

Yeah, my mistake.....but I don't think it was too hard for folks to figure out about whom I was speaking since I specifically referred to the most recent threat to wipe the US off of the face of the Earth.
And for you, Pawley's Dude, yeah, I do think that the White House has helped to stifle the story. It's not only possible but probable. You honestly think only the conservatives play politics and spin information? Really?

um, like, I am not sure an stuff. but i would think, like, the idea that NK is supported by the russians and china at the expense of the US is, like, not really true. since if NK lobbed any type of nuclear whatever at the US, the US would come down like a battering ram. and that would be bad, for like, all of us. and like, russia and, like china wouldn't like that either.
i dunno, im just a moron.
