Default Question for federal retirees

Hi all,

We've been looking at retiring to North Carolina because my federal pension will not be subject to NC state taxes.

However, NC has serveral other taxes and fees, and I'm not sure if it would be more tax friendly overall.

SC seems to have less hurricanes, and is a little warmer in the winter, so we're just now thinking about possible retirement there.

So, just wondering if any of you federal retirees living in SC have maybe lived in NC, and know which one is more tax friendly overall.

I know there are sites which give some statistics, but they don't take my federal pension into account.

Any insight will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,.....marc
