Regardless as to how one feels about what's being proposed by the president, you don't yell out "You lie" at the president during a joint session of Congress. There's a time and place for everything, and this certainly doesn't make my home state look any better.

Regardless of what one thinks of the President it shows me Rep Wilson is completely ineffective. But given what we have for a Gov, Lt Gov and the two federal Senators I should not be surprised.
Instead of reviewing the actual proposals and his speech to point out discrepencies- he simply threw a fit like a 2nd grader. I know because I was paddled for behaving similarly in a SC public school.
And the only thing he has had to say since then is that Sarah Palin told him otherwise. There are 40 R senators, almost 200 R house members, countless staffers and think tanks and he is choosing to listen to a former state officer who has never worked on legislation???

If CLinton or Bush had been called out for what we now know were lies you might have had a point. But no one had ever behaved like this during any Presidential address I witnessed.
The whole scenario when added to the Demint Waterloo comment just makes it appear Republicans will do whatever it takes to bring down this president. I'm not even a real fan of his but I refuse to reward instigators and stone throwers. Otherwise I'd live in Britain or one of those Asian or African countries that are fine with such behavior.

What about the Dem Senator from Penn saying on CNN that the GOP hasn't even put a plan together and that they are just saying no? I don't see him apologizing or CNN doing any research into it. The GOP has thus far submitted 3 separate health care plans and have gotten ZERO attention. One of the plans was by our very own Jim DeMint.
Back to the question: I think more reps need to start speaking their mind on these issues and calling a lie a lie. Enough of this toeing the party line BS. We send reps to Congress to look out for our best interest. And sometimes, it is in our best interest to call BS when they see it.

Just because the jerk thinks Obama may have lied. THATS NOT THE PLACE TO CRY ABOUT IT.. It was the Presidents time to speak not the SOB that yelled out. He made our entire country look bad and weak by forcing his agenda into a major Presidential address.....not to mention how bad it makes the repubs look.........go figure

It is childish, ignorant people like this representing the state of South Carolina that are the reason this state is lacking. Although it really does not surprise me and as some have already said it is just another thing to make South Carolina look bad. These people lie just to disrupt the process and cause confusion in the american people.
Did not see all of this outcry when Bush was in office sitting back doing nothing while the US was almost ruined because of the price for foreign oil.......where was all of these outbursts then The only thing Wilson's outburst proves is that those who did not want Obama to become president are holding a grudge and doing everything they can to destroy him. It all boils down to racism in my opinion!

Dude please. He was dead wrong for the outburst at that particular moment.
If you're a churchgoer, maybe the next time your minister says something you disagree with during the sermon, you should shout out "You lie!"

Ok, Im OK with everything else, but dont you think the racism outcry is getting very, very old, very very quickly?
It seems like every thread I see with someone disagreeing with Obama somebody pulls the race card.
I dont care if he's black, white, or pink and polka dotted, he's still lying.
