Relocating to Beaufort area and need help
My husband has a great job opportunity in the Beaufort area. We have 2 children ages 3 and 6 and are trying to figure out where we should live. We would prefer to build a home and have seen a few properties in Bluffton that were appealing- but we would appreciate any input anyone can offer. Thanks!!

Congrats on your move into the area. Have you made an decisions? Bluffton is a great little town with tons to do. Close to Beaufort, Hilton Head Island and Savannah. Are you looking in a specific community / plantation or still feeling it out?

We are still looking. We have looked at Baynard Park and we like it we have also noticed some properties for sale in Woodbridge and plan on checking them out this weekend. Are you familiar with these communities or know of any others we chould look into?

DBK - those two spots are popular. A few others that are somewhat similar in style are Hampton Hall, Rose Hill and Pinecrest...all in the Bluffton area. Another one to think about it Oldfield Plantation which is a bit closer to Beaufort on Rt. 170. Price varies between these.
When you're driving around be sure to swing through Old Bluffton. If you've not been there head to the end of Calhoun Street to check out the view and the Church of the Cross built in the 1850's...beautiful. A good spot to grab a bite to eat is Peppers Porch on rt. 46 (main drag through Bluffton) if you do head through there.
I can pass along the name and number of a Realtor that knows the Bluffton area if that would be helpful. I came to the area about 5 years ago and really enjoy living here...it's a great spot.

Island West has a good location...a bit closer to Beaufort than Baynard Park and Woodbridge. There is a community pool in there, I think, and a little community club house area as well. Good looking community with a golf course.

You have been so helpful ! Do you by any chance know anything about the new Landmark24 communities, Midpoint at New Riverside and Palmetto Point? Their prices are so reasonable and you get a lot of house for the money.

DBK - These two communities are located on the "west" side of Bluffton in the 46 / 170 / 278 area. As that area matures a bit there is more shopping and dining in the immediate area. Also, these areas are going to be pretty convenient to Beaufort. This area is comprised of almost all new development from the past 5 years. As for cost you will tend to get more house for the money in this area as it's newer and considered "out" a bit from the main Hilton Head / Bluffton area. Really, you're not far from Bluffton or Hilton Head or Beaufort.
