small quaint vacation town?
Me and my friend have lived in North Carolina our entire lives and we're looking to get away to a nice small town for a weekend vacation sometime around next March or April. Somewhere quaint that we could walk around with small cafes and a park maybe. It doesn't have to have anything historical or landmarks or anything. Does anyone know of anywhere nearby that matches this description?

Hilton Head Island. We lived there (and still own a property there and visit quite often) and we LOVE it. Lots of walking trails/biking trails, cafes and shops to walk to, family-friendly, great beaches, etc.

If it is not too far away from where you live, I highly recommend the quaint, artisanal mountain village called Highlands, North Carolina. The town is surrounded by pristine natural beauty and is a place renowned for intimate getaways, world class dining and shopping, plush inns, cozy bed & breakfasts, and unforgettable outdoor recreation.

Hilton Head or downtown Charleston.
Also consider Gatlinburg, TN. A LOT of tourists go through that town in a given year but it really is a neat place and what I would consider quaint.

Depends on your definition of 'small'. To me, Hilton Head or Charleston are not small vacation towns by any means. Great places to visit, absolutely, but when you have 4 million visitors/year like Charleston does and a million or so like HHI does, that doesn't qualify as small to me.
Along the coast, I'd recommend Edisto Beach, has a great state park, and is very quaint or Pawleys Island.

Wow, thanks for all the recommendations everyone. I've been to Charleston before when I was younger and remember it being pretty busy but i'll go check out everywhere else.

I agree with banshee24- the easy life in Edisto- not commercialized and relaxing.
If you want more night life, Daniel Island in Mt. Pleasant is great!
