Default Insurance

Does anyone know what insurance you are required to have in Hilton Head on a house? More specifically right off island? My husband and I are relocating and we are trying to make sure we do not buy a house that is outside our budget when you add in the extra costs. Any information about approximately how much insurance is would be very helpful. Thank you!!

Talk to an agent. I would imagine that you have to have flood insurance if you have a mortgage. Even if you were to pay cash for a home, it would be foolish, IMO to not have flood insurance when living along the coast or in a flood prone area.

As far as extra costs go, have you found a site that lists all the taxes involved with specific homes as well as any association fees?
