They did, but it is a furniture store now.

It would be nice to have a Kroger's in the area.

???

What do you mean west of Columbia? In the Cola metro there is one on St. Andrews Rd. and one in Irmo (granted, these are more NW than directly west); and if you're referring to the Augusta-N. Augusta-Aiken area, there are numerous ones in that metro as well.

Have not been all that impressed w/the Pig, they are by far the most expensive, do very little shopping there. The Kroger in NE Richland is very nice as well. Would love to see a Trader Joe's or Whole Foods come into Columbia. While EarthFare & The Fresh Market are nice stores w/organic food, expect to pay double for everything, TJ or WF would offer more of that type of food at a more reasonable price.
Foreshadowing. Lol. We also got that Lowe’s Food. And a Lidl. Now all we need is that Sprouts which we were gonna have, but now don’t (looking at you Hardy King). And I’d like an Ingles or two. Just for variety.

When I lived in Charleston, Harris Teeter was my favorite followed by Publix. When I moved to Columbia there were not HT's so I shopped at Publix. I would be interested in Kroger if they open a new store by me. I do not like Aldi nor Lidl. Lowes Food does have some things I like that Publix does not carry, so I do stop ar Lowes for those things.

EarthFare and Whole Foods are marketing gimmicks. I’m not interested in paying nearly double for foods that have no guarantee to actually be “organic” or “fresh.” Those terms are marketing terms and carry very little oversight to actually define what it actually means.
